Gianrico DePasquale (Treasurer)
My name is Gianrico DePasquale and I am the treasurer of the Canadian Law Society. I hold a degree in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and I am set to graduate from the Senior Status LLB program in 2015. As treasurer it is my job to ensure that the CLS can afford to fund its endeavors and provide its members with the greatest benefits possible. These range from social events to workshops with leading practitioners to trips into London and facilitating national competitions.
As a CLS executive member, I see firsthand, the amount of hard work that is put in to ensuring that Canadians studying at the University of Leicester enjoy every opportunity possible. As a CLS member, I get to enjoy some of these opportunities. For example, I will be representing the University of Leicester in a moot that will be heard at the Canadian High Commission. This would not be possible were it not for the CLS. My opportunity is one of many that the CLS has provided members throughout its tenure.
The CLS has been a force for positive change at the University of Leicester and has been a pillar on which the success of many Canadian students is built. I would very much like to see this continue. With the group of members who will inevitably take the place of this year’s executive, I am confident that it will.
